Hole Lineup: Courtney Love (Guitar/Vocals), Eric Erlandson (Guitar), Melissa Auf der Maur (Bass/Background Vocals), and Patty Schemel (Drums).
Other Bands: Scarce, Bitchcock
Notes:
• Patty’s 28th birthday.
• The show started an hour late. The audience threw plastic cups at the band. A girl in the balcony was ripping up pieces of a chair and throwing them at the stage, while shouting “You killed Kurt!” After 6 songs, Courtney stopped playing. The band left the stage. Courtney returned and climbed up to the balcony, using the lighting rig as a ladder. She ranted at people as she made her way along the front of the balcony and then she was helped down by a member of Hole’s crew. The rest of the band returned to the stage 10 minutes later to finish the show, but Courtney continued to rant. Eric and Melody Maker‘s Everett True went up to the balcony to tell the girl to leave and they were told that she was already gone. The audience started throwing beer and glasses at the stage. Courtney picked up the mic to say something else, but it had been turned off. She took Melissa’s mic, but it was turned down low and no one could hear what she said, so she left the stage.
