Smashing Pumpkins

In October 1999, Melissa decided to leave Hole. She was asked to join Smashing Pumpkins, replacing bassist D’Arcy Wretzky. Melissa toured with the band to promote Machina/The Machines of God and Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music (she didn’t perform on either album).
