-CELEBRITY SKIN

JH: Now, from Hole – please welcome, Courtney Love.

Audience applauds.

JH: Welcome back.

He kisses Courtney.

JH: Welcome back to our show.

CL: Yeah, well.

JH: You are ?? Firstly, last time you were on, you met…

CL: Last time I was on (Laughs) I looked a lot different.

JH: You looked lovely.

CL: No, that was probably one of the worst pictures ever taken of me in my entire life.

JH: We both did…we both…

CL: You know what? ‘Cause I took a lot of drugs that week (Laughs).

JH: ?? Well…in…I’ve got…we…

CL: God, what was that? No, you did it to me – it was just being around you made my face get fatter or something.

JH: That’s what happens to me, but no, we’ve got that picture…

CL: No, please don’t show it anymore, show a new one now that I’m improved!

JH puts an arm around her and waves at the camera.

JH: Well, I’ll tell you what, we’re gonna take one for the camera now. It can be different.

CL: Alright, hi.

JH: There you are. Now we’ll use that one.

CL: Thank you.

JH: Now, we’ve both changed a bit, but also you’ve starred in feature films. You have…

CL: (Fake posh voice) Oh yes, I’ve made it, darling.

JH: Oh yes.

CL: I’ve climbed on glass, I’ve done it, darling.

JH: No, you know…The People vs. Larry Flynt…you’ve gone into that world. Did you enjoy that world?

CL: (Posh voice) Oh yes, I love that world.

JH: Love it.

CL: Love it.

JH: Would you like to make more films, do you think?

CL: Yeah, I’m making one with, um, Jim Carrey right now.

JH: And I saw, I don’t think you’ll mind me revealing this to the public, but when I was in your dressing room earlier, we were sharing a bit of a cake and a chat, you had a lot of videos of things like, uh, period costume dramas.

CL: I’m gonna do one!

JH: What are you gonna do?

CL: Yeah, no one buys this… I am, I’m doing it. I’m doing a Victorian British costume drama.

JH: And who do you want to be? Who are you gonna be?

CL: It’s…it’s a Trollope movie.

JH: You’re a trollop?

Audience laughs.

CL: It’s the first Trollope…yes, Trollope is a writer.

JH: Yes. What’s the book called?

CL: Eustace Diamonds.

JH: Right.

CL: See, you don’t buy it. Wait ’til I do it.

JH: Then we will buy it.

CL: I’m here to crack the British class system. That’s my purpose in life.

JH: Single handed?

CL: Yes.

JH: You said you went to see Elizabeth the First, the film…

CL: Last night!

JH: Yes, good?

CL: Oh, it was genius.

JH: Should we go and see it?

CL: Yeah, and I feel like a hypocrite, ’cause as somebody that’s really not a big fan of your class system, I was really a fan of like…

JH: Elizabeth.

CL: Empirical (Laughs).

JH: ?? chop those heads off.

CL: But I told somebody, it’s kind of an American story, ’cause you know, this King had a bunch of bastard children and the most strong one kind of made it through.

JH: Now, we’re going to…

CL: Oh my God.

JH: In a moment, you’re going to do Malibu for us, tell us about that song.

CL: Yes, darling. Um, it’s…

JH: You’ve got California on your shirt.

CL: Well, it’s a California…it…yeah. Well, I figure Oasis came over and they wore Union Jacks, and since I’m here to beat the class system…

JH: Yeah.

CL: And make you all recite the Constitution within the next 24 hours. Um, it’s just a song about…it’s a song about this really rich, upper middle class white enclave, but metaphorically it’s kind of about, um, solace…Nirvana, bliss Xanadu, if you will.

JH: Could it be found in Malibu?

Audience laughs.

CL: If you can afford it, but that’s not the point, ok?

JH: Oh, sorry, I’ve missed the point.

CL: It’s not a class thing.

JH: No, no. It’s finding the area.

CL: It’s that place. (Gestures upward)

JH: But in a moment, we’ll hear the song ?? – and I can’t say how happy we are to have you back.

CL: Really?

JH: And we’re looking forward to seeing Hole later on. Courtney Love, thank you very much indeed.

CL: Thank you.
