NOTE: This is a partial transcript pieced together from videos. Some banter is missing.

CL: It’s like a mass fucking ?? HOW ARE YOU DOING?!

Audience screams.

CL: Well, I’m grumpy.

Guy in Crowd: Aw, here we go. It’s not Courtney Love if she’s not grumpy.

– PRETTY ON THE INSIDE

– SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL

– SKINNY LITTLE BITCH

(CUT)

CL: Fuck you. (She gestures for the audience to bring it).

CL: No, on three I want you to say ‘Fuck you’ back really loud. One, two, three…

Audience: Fuck you!

CL: FUCK YOU TOO! YAY!

CL: Alright, this is a song about this fucking city that won’t give me the keys and they don’t even want me there and there are 33,000 people.

– MALIBU

CL: Thank you.

CL: (CUT) How weird is that? They don’t even like me and I keep writing songs about them, those ten Malibu people, which we are not and we are glad.

– PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY

CL: (During song) (To the audience) Sing it.

CL: (During song) (To the audience) Alright, I’ll give it to you. (She holds the mic out to the audience).

CL: Thank you, fuck you, thank you, fuck you, thank you, fuck you. (She slaps herself on the face while saying the following) I’m your mother, I’m your sister, I’m your daughter, I’m your lover, I’m your mother, I’m your sister.

CL: Oh, that wasn’t for this show, I’m so sorry. Can I have something to drink, like pee? I just need something to drink.

CL: Oh, thank you, Micko. All these people and no one will share.

CL: Ok, this song’s really hard to sing, ’cause I’m fucking OLD! And it’s about a whore!

– SAMANTHA

– CELEBRITY SKIN

CL: (CUT) it and I swear to God if one of you jock, Slayer buddies talk, I will fucking sit on you and do a douche…and I haven’t had a douche for a long time, but that’s ’cause I don’t need one, ’cause it’s all Barbie.

CL: Shh, quiet, it’s a good song. Just listen.

– TAKE THIS LONGING

CL: That was kind of good, right? I like that. Thank you.

(CUT)

CL: (CUT) I thought of it in 1984 and let me tell you the four bands names I thought of: Cockpit, Swamp Pussy…should I have stuck with that one?

Audience screams.

CL: Yeah, with the douche and everything…Hole and then there’s Babes in Toyland, which got taken from me, so I have been…just so you know, this is Hole and that’s Micko. He does not fuck me every night. I am old enough to be his Grandmommy. We call him Dragon. You know what, I’m not playing another song unless you give it up. GIVE IT FUCKING UP!

Audience screams.

CL: Thank you. And that’s Stu, our drummer, he’s amazing. GIVE IT UP!

Audience screams.

CL: And that’s Shawn, apparently he’s the best fuck in the western United States…I would know, as I am the best fuck in the world.

CL: Ok, this is a really old one and I am, like, retarded and I forget this shit.

– MISS WORLD

CL: Alright, we have time for one more. I’ll take a request.

Courtney leans closer to the audience, then she goes back to the mic.

CL: You guys are so unimaginative. Doll Parts? Really?

Audience screams.

CL: Ok, I wrote that song in Boston and there was a dog staring at me and that’s why I say ‘Dog begs’ in the song. I don’t understand why this song is a big deal, it’s, like, three chords, but…haha, I’m being fake modest. Um, really, I wanted something more interesting. What? Did you say a Pantera song, you fucking Slayer hippie? Yeah, I will give you a Vulgar Display of Power, right with my douche – oh, and by the way, I’m on the rag, so one more. (She makes a whipping sound).

CL: Yeah, why not.

– DOLL PARTS

During the song, she sometimes lets the audience finish the lyrics.

After singing “Someday you will ache like I ache,” Courtney says “No, you won’t” and then “I don’t think so.”

CL: Ok, last song.

(CUT)

CL: (CUT) those are just pictures of me pretending to give Scott a blow job. It wasn’t really a blow job. We were imbibing and we were role playing with the Polaroid. I just want to get that straight. Oh honey, if I kissed and told, please, we’d be here for fucking days!

CL: This is one of my favorite songs. It’s by a man named Alex Chilton, who died…and, you know, I just want to dedicate this song to, um, Kevin Weatherly, who’s the program director of KROQ. He was playing my first band, Faith No More, when I was fucking 19 and a little brat.

Guy in Crowd: Fucking blow jobs!

CL: And he was playing me all through the 90s, when I was a really big brat.

Guy in Crowd: Fuck you!

CL: And he even played my crappy solo record, which was really bad, but he played it and I love Kevin and this is a song called Thirteen about being in love before you have pubic hair.

Guy in Crowd: Dude, you suck!

The guy screams “Fuck you” throughout the next song.

– THIRTEEN

CL: Goodnight. Thank you so much. Let’s give it up for KROQ, our local.
