1993: Kristen, Bootlegs, & other stuff

Greetings everyone. I hope you’re having a nice summer (or whichever season it is in your part of the world). Today, I want to let you all know about a special project. A book is being written about Kristen Pfaff by her brother, Jason Pfaff, and Guy Mankowski. It’s titled I Know How to Live. If you subscribe to their Substack you can read the first volume, listen to recordings, look at never released photos, and many other things. I highly recommend it!

Now, on to site business. The Bootleg section for 1989-1993 is finally complete. The transcripts for shows from 1992-1993 aren’t quite finished yet, but will hopefully be done by next weekend. More content has been added for shows from 1993. BIG NEWS: I’ve learned that the July 12, 1993 show at Vaartkapoen in Belgium, which was previously thought to be cancelled, was actually played – and we have some footage of it in the documentary Not Bad For a Girl. I don’t know where that misinformation came from, but I’m glad it’s cleared up. Here are all the updated sections for this week:

Constant Comment

Photos & press clippings have been added for Melissa & Patty’s 1996 side project, Constant Comment. If anyone has the full-sized version of pic 3, where Patty has been cropped out, please send it to webmaster@holearchive.com.

ALSO: Melissa recently made an appearance at a Machines of God concert (Billy Corgan’s new band) in Montreal. They performed The Smashing Pumpkins’ The Everlasting Gaze. I’m unsure of whether the show belongs on the SP tour page of this site or the MADM tour page, but for now I’ve put it on MADM. I may change my mind in the future.

1991 & Bootleg Guide

Newspaper clippings & flyers have been added for shows from 1991 & I’ve created more pages for the bootleg guide.
I confirmed with some newspaper items that Twisters was actually 7-22-1991, so I’ve removed the July 1991 show at the Cat’s Cradle in North Carolina for now. If I can find some definitive proof that they played there that month, I’ll put it back.

Bootlegs & Other Tours

I’ve created some new sections for the site – a bootleg guide and tour histories for Janitor Joe (in 1994), Smashing Pumpkins (w/ Melissa), Auf Der Maur, and MADM. The bootleg guide is under construction at the moment and I’ll be adding more to it when I have time. Also, coming soon: bootleg banter transcripts!

Edgefest ’99 & Cancelled Dates

Pages have been added for the Edgefest tour in Canada in 1999 (Hole’s last tour), including setlists, photos, reviews, and more. I’ve also added a few pages for some cancelled tour dates from August 1999.

1990 Shows

As I mentioned in the previous post, I’ve been trying to determine the correct date for the mislabled 7-27-1990 Raji’s bootleg. Thanks to a note on the archived Moonwashed Rose fan site, here, I learned that Hole still had it’s 3rd guitarist, Mike Geisbrecht, at this show. That means it could only have taken place in the first few months of 1990, since Mike left the band around March. I’m still working on finding out the exact date, but at least now we’ve narrowed it down a bit.

IMPORTANT: If you have the video that was sold on Moonwashed Rose as 7-27-1990 (see the link above), PLEASE upload it to Youtube. I would love to see it and look for more clues about it’s origins.
